The Transat St Barts B to B skippers: Jean-Pierre Dick
Originally a veterinarian, Jean-Pierre Dick is also a confirmed regatta runner. He has been taking part boat races since 2002.
In 2004, he achieved his first round-the-world single-handed yacht race, sailed non-stop and without assistance, name d Vendée Globe.
Although Jean-Pierre Dick definitely enjoys single-handed races, he has also been demonstrating a true team player mindset within his racing team.
In 2001 he won the tour de France à la voile. He also won the Transat Jacques Vabre three times in 2003, 2005 and 2011.
No wonder that he is already one of the favorite in the 2012 Vendée Globe. Jean-Pierre Dick will be sailing in the Virbac-Paperec. This is a 60 feet boat which has been recently delivered by the Auckland shipyard.
